Undisciplined Juveniles

Under North Carolina Law, any juvenile that is between the ages of 6 and 18 can be considered an undisciplined juvenile if he or she:

  • Is consistently disobedient to and beyond the control of his or her parent, guardian or custodian
  • Regularly hangs out in places that are considered unlawful for minors
  • Run away from home for more than 24 hours

Any juvenile between the ages 6 and 15 can also be considered an undisciplined juvenile if he or she unlawfully skips school. In North Carolina, any minor under 18 is subject to the control and supervision of his or her parents unless he or she has been judicially emancipated, married or is in the armed forces.
